Kowrk is enabling ‘Airbnb for office space’
24th, May 2017 - Startup community
Launched in late 2015, Kowrk is already present in 25 cities across 10 countries. They have revamped the ecosystem of the professional workspace by matching seekers and providers of shared office spaces. Headquartered in Hong Kong, Kowrk is expanding its footprint in India. They have opened their second office in Mumbai.
Kowrk has now launched Shared
offices in India – ‘It’s like an Airbnb for office space’. Companies using
commercial office spaces can rent their spare desks and meeting rooms via
Kowrk. Prospective tenants – which includes startups, freelancers, digital
nomad, and small & medium companies can rent professional spaces at
affordable rates and flexible terms.
"Shared Offices model will
enrich the coworking trend that is being seen across the countries,” says
Kowrk’s founder Honey J Kathuria, who previously managed offline operations in
APAC for Hotels.com. “One one hand, there is a high demand for more affordable
shared workspaces that coworking spaces and business centres are unable to
fulfil. On the other side, many companies have unused space that they can
monetize by renting it to others. Matching them is a win-win for everyone.”
For professional companies
looking to share their office space, Kowrk offers services to create the most
attractive offer, market it and help with legal agreements. They provide
consulting services to assist companies to select suitable tenants without
investing a lot of time. There is also an option to list the space for free.
Kowrk has launched an incentive
program for people to list spare desks in their offices. Both referrer and
referee get discounts and gift vouchers when space is added at Kowrk.com.
After maturing the model in
India, Kowrk plans to launch it in other countries
